Join me, Qian from Snake Ceramic Berlin, for an immersive 7-day pottery retreat in Jingdezhen, the birthplace of porcelain!
This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore traditional Chinese ceramic techniques, from throwing and hand-building to Qinghua (blue and white) painting and wood firing. Whether youβre a beginner or an experienced potter, this journey will deepen your skills and connection with clay in a stunning countryside setting.
πLanguage & Teaching Support
The retreat will be led by an experienced instructor who will teach in Chinese. To ensure a smooth learning experience, I will be there to provide translation to English , hands-on assistance, and co-teaching support for beginner students.

π Day 1: Arrival, intro to wood firing, wheel-throwing practice
π Day 2: Visit a large wood-fired kiln in town, throwing/hand-building
π Day 3: Trimming & personal project work
π Day 4: Qinghua painting, bisque kiln loading
π Day 5: Bisque kiln opening, wood kiln loading
π Day 6: Firing day β stoking the kiln with pinewood
π Day 7: Kiln opening, finishing touches, check-out
